Shuqaiq 2 IWPP (Independent Water and Power Project) is an integrated water and power plant project in Shuqaiq, Saudi Arabia. The project’s power and desalination units are located adjacent to the existing Shuqaiq 1 power and desalination complex, 105 km south of Abha and 140 km north of Jizan, on the south-western (Red Sea) coast of Saudi Arabia

In 2007, Malaysia's Zelan and Japan's Mitsubishi Heavy Industries secured this project worth US $268 (SR1.6 billion) contract as the EPCC for a substantial portion of the onshore and offshore civil works. Zelan took on the offshore works to design and build the intake box culverts, discharge channel, ash pond, fuel oil unloading jetty with supply facilities and construction of civil works for power and desalination plant amounting to RM938million.

The 850-megawatt power plant in Shuqaiq is integrated with a desalination plant that can churn out 212,000 cu metres of piped water a day.

The electricity and water produced at the plant is supplying power to southern grid and water to Abha, Jizan and other southern cities. This green field project included the design, construction and commissioning of three 340MW oil fired power units combined with Reverse Osmosis (RO) water unit comprising 16 trains. The 850-megawatt power plant in Shuqaiq is integrated with a desalination plant that can churn out 212,000 cu metres of piped water a day.

Shuqaiq Water and Electricity Plant in Jazan Saudi Arabia was completed 70 days ahead of its schedule. "This project, where around 7,000 staff members worked to accomplish it within 25 million hours without any occupational accidents affecting the work flow," Madani Alagi, chairman of Shuqaiq Water and Electricity
